The international student community of the University of Debrecen hosted their traditional gastronomical festival for the sixteenth time this year, which again served a charitable purpose.

Chinese students on the threshold of graduating as Hungarian majors
As members of the second graduating class at our Faculty of Humanities, fifteen Chinese students, who started their studies in Hungarian at the University of Debrecen three years ago as participants in an international educational cooperation, are pretty close to the point of receiving their Hungarian BA diplomas.

Research and development for more efficient oncology care
The University of Debrecen and GE HealthCare have concluded and signed a research and development agreement to support radiotherapy treatment. The Department of Oncoradiology is the first institution in Europe to test the GE HealthCare software that constitutes a system of highly complex radiation therapy procedures. As for now, the application is only used in a testing environment but, once it gets involved in patient care, it will be able to provide more effective oncoradiology treatments.

Foreign students studying at the Faculty of Science and Technology (TTK) familiarize themselves with scientific work
At a conference on Friday students of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Debrecen participating in English-language training could hear lectures about scientific work carried out at the faculty, the possibilities of the National Scientific Student Conference (TDK) and the talent management programs of the university. The program was organized by the International Student Union (ISU), which brings together foreign students.

The last stage of preparations for the Continental Games to be held in Debrecen
A basketball court designed and constructed for the European Universities 3×3 Basketball Championships was tested by students of the University of Debrecen on Tuesday on the square in front of the Main Building. This summer’s continental competition will be conducted with the participation of almost 50 teams from as many as 40 different universities in Europe.

Students of the University of Debrecen (DE) achieved excellent results at the competitions of the 36th National Student Circle Conference (OTDK) held April 3-27. Of the 444 submissions 187 were awarded with a prize or a special award.

MÜZLI: artificial intelligence as the industrial revolution of our time

A fabulous “royal” play performed at oDEon
The recent premiere of the musical titled “The Lion King” at UD’s oDEon turned out to be a huge success. In the adaptation of the two-act play written and composed by Elton John and Tim Rice, the company of international students of the university theatre, together the child actors and actresses who have just made their debut by immediately playing leading parts, performed beyond expectations.

Petőfi 200: A Chinese-Hungarian poem recitation competition
Last Thursday, the Confucius Institute of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen celebrated Chinese Language Day by arranging a poem recitation competition titled Petőfi 200 and the opening of an exhibition called The Power of Poetry: Lu Xun and Petőfi.
